Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat) โครๅช
Korat is the capital of the Isaan, an elevated plain which is covered by almost endless rice fields. Due to the frequent dry periods the population of the Isaan is poor. In the centre of the old town of Korat the remainings of the ancient city wall are to be found.

Kanchanaburi
The town Kanchanaburi, which has about 55000 inhabitants is famous for its bridge over the river kwai which was constructed during the second world war by the japanese.

Hua Hin หัวหิน
An especially amoung thais very popular bath, which is charcterized by its closeness to the capital. Even the king has a summer residence here. Palm beaches like on Samui or in Phuket, you should however not expect to find.

Pimai พิมาย
The small town Pimai is located about 60 km northeast of Korat. In the town centre the "Prast Hin Pimai", one of the most beautifull khmer temples of the country is found. This town is also the venue of the anually "Pimai Boatrace" in november.

Khao Yai วนอุทยานเปาใณู
Opened in 1962, this is the oldest and the bigest national park of the country. The mountainous country holds some in parts very impressiv waterfalls. With some good luck you can also see wild elefants, bears and tigers here.

Surin สรินทร์
Every year in november thousands of natives and tourists surge into this 40000 inhabits counting city, to experience the elefant round up. More than 100 elefants show their skills in competitions and processions.
